Planting
Trees, shrubs, perennials and seasonal colour, set at correct depth and spacing with the soil amended for the species going in.
The build. Beds cut, soil amended, trees and shrubs set at the right depth, walkways and walls laid on a base that will not move, and the site swept clean at the end of every day.

A patio fails at the base, not at the paving. A shrub dies from being planted an inch too deep, not from the weather. Nearly everything that goes wrong with a new landscape was decided before anyone could see it, which is why we spend the time down there.
Beds are cut to the drawing and the soil amended for what is going into it. Trees and shrubs go in at the depth they grew at the nursery, with the wire and burlap dealt with properly. Walks and terraces get a compacted base deep enough for a Connecticut freeze cycle.
You will get a written scope before we start, and the same crew for the length of the job. They arrive when we say, keep the access clear, and leave the property tidy every evening, not just on the last day.
From a single bed to full grounds. The exact scope is written up after we walk the property, and it generally draws from the following.
Trees, shrubs, perennials and seasonal colour, set at correct depth and spacing with the soil amended for the species going in.
Paver and natural-stone surfaces laid on a compacted base built for freeze and thaw, edged so it holds its line for decades.
Dry-laid and mortared stone that holds a grade rather than merely decorating it, with drainage behind the wall where it belongs.
Grading, dry wells and drain lines to move water away from foundations and out of the beds where it kills more plants than any winter.
Ground prepared, amended and levelled before turf goes down, because a lawn laid on compacted subsoil is a lawn you replace.
Larger projects staged across the season so the property stays usable and each phase reaches a finished-looking point.
Walls we laid decades ago are still standing straight a few streets from the yard. That is the only durability test that actually counts.
Fully insured, and we tell you when we will be there. If weather moves us, you hear it from us rather than by looking out of the window.
Not just at the estimate. The person who priced the work is on site while it is done, which is why the scope and the build match.
Anyone can make a bed look full on the day it is planted. We space for what the plant becomes, and tell you honestly how it will look meanwhile.
You will know the scope, the price and the schedule before anyone starts digging.
We walk the property, check access, grade and soil, and talk through what you want built.
Materials, quantities, timeline and cost, in writing, with options where a choice genuinely changes the result.
Layout marked, base and soil work done first, then planting and surfaces. The site is cleaned at the end of every day.
We go round it with you, explain watering and establishment, and can pick it up on a maintenance schedule.
A level terrace cut into a sloping garden, held by a dry-laid wall and edged with low planting.
A new route through the garden with a seating bay set where the afternoon light lands.
A steep bank turned into a comfortable rise, with steps wide enough to carry shopping up.
A cut-stone route laid between established hedging, set level enough to wheel a barrow along.
A bank that kept washing out, held in stone tiers and planted so the roots now do most of the work.
Work shown is representative of the type of project we take on.
Being twenty minutes away matters more on an installation than anywhere else: material deliveries, a wet week, a wall that needs one more day. From the Norwalk yard we can be back on your site the same morning.
Plans drawn around how you actually use the property. Sightlines, grade, drainage and light all come before a single plant is chosen.

(203) 247-7744Not always. Straightforward work, a bed, a walkway, a run of planting. We can scope and price directly. Anything that changes grade, drainage or the shape of the property is far cheaper to think through on paper first.
A single bed or a small walkway is a few days. A terrace with a retaining wall is usually one to three weeks depending on stone and access. We give you a realistic window in the written scope rather than an optimistic one.
Base and soil work stops when the ground is saturated, carrying on would give you a patio that settles. We call you, move the date, and pick it up as soon as the site will take it.
We arrange utility marking before any excavation as a matter of course. Where a town permit is needed, some wall heights and wetlands setbacks in this county. We will tell you at the estimate rather than after.
Yes. Tools stowed, access clear and debris off the lawn every evening. On a job that runs a fortnight, that is the difference between living with it and enduring it.
Establishment depends heavily on watering after we leave, so we go through that with you at the walk-through. Talk to us about what a specific job includes. We will put it in the written scope rather than leave it vague.

Tell us what you want installed and we will come out, check access and ground conditions, and put scope, timeline and cost in writing.
We will walk the property, talk through what you want, and put a price in writing. No charge, and no pressure afterwards.
